DetailOxygen barrier radiant PEX pipe, for radiant heat applications. Durable, flexible, cross linked polyethylene tubing with excellent flow characteristics for use in radiant floor and wood boiler heating. Can be used by direct burial in cement, ground, and under floor installations. For use with brass or poly alloy barbed insert PEX fittings and secured with stainless steel cinch clamps or copper crimp ring methods. The outer layer is easier to pull through joists, reduces expansion noise in walls and floors, protects the oxygen barrier from job site abuse and protects the oxygen barrier against moisture. Light, easy-to-transport and store. Extremely flexible. Maintenance-free and corrosion-resistant. Manufactured using the Silane method which enables higher burst strength and higher antioxidant protection. Tested and listed ASTM F-876, F-877, E-84, SDR9, NSF-14RFH, UL 263, ICC, ESR-1155, PMG-1008, IPC, IMC, UMC, and UPC, CSA Standard B137.5. Radiant PEX tubing is the same size as rigid copper tube (CTS). Maximum working pressure: 160 psi (pounds per square inch) (11 bar) at 73.4 F (degree Fahrenheit), 23 C (degree Celsius); 100 psi (6.9 bar) at 180 F (80 C); 80 psi (5.5 bar) at 200 F (93 C). PEX tubing cannot be solvent welded . Caution-Do not use any pipe dope or thread sealing compound as damage to fittings or pipe can result.
